For just shy of two years, I’ve been sharing my goals — or Weekly Wishes, as we call ’em around these parts — every.single.week. It’s been an amazing ride and wonderfully productive activity, which no doubt helped me launch my own business, grow TNC’s community, and find a ridiculous amount of joy through blogging. The other day, a friend told me that someone she met through Weekly Wishes even attended her wedding! So cool to hear stories like that. And aside from the achievements that weekly goal setting can help you reach, it’s the connections made through this linkup that have meant the most to me. Thank you to everyone who participated during its 23-month lifespan! Your commitment to reaching your dreams is truly inspiring. <3 Now, onto a mini check-in and my goals for the week!
SO. This week was a fun one! First of all, I got SO much done for work. Not just the big stuff that would get done anyways, but I somehow found the inspiration to do a lot of nagging tasks that have been on my to-do list for months. Aren’t those the worst? They always make me feel guilty when I see them on my to-do list, but yet they still sit there for ages. Feels good to knock a few of ’em off my list though. 🙂

Esther and Jessica also came over so we could each work on our own blog stuff with other humans. 😉 And this weekend, Paul and I went to the Brewery Art Walk in LA. I’d never been before, but it’s a pretty neat event! It’s basically a commune for artists, where they live and work in their own studio. Twice a year, they open up their live/work lofts so that people can come by and explore their art and living spaces. I think there were around 100 open studios to visit and each one had its own unique flair, often reflective of the artist’s personality or type of art. Paul and I also agreed that our favorite lofts were the one the ones that seemed to have a consistent “brand,” like when their home decor mirrored the type of art they created. It was really interesting! It definitely made me think more about what it takes to create a memorable business brand, too. Consistency and reflecting who you are are so, so important.

Last but not least, I got lunch with my dad and little sister yesterday, which was a happy time. 🙂
Oh! I’m also turning 26 on Thursday, which is odd because it doesn’t at all feel like my birthday is coming up. Maybe that’s what birthdays are like when you start to get older? haha. But I’m actually looking forward to 26. Getting older actually excites me. Paul is also taking me (and Monja!) to Solvang over the weekend, which is a cute Danish town near Santa Barbara that we’ve been dying to visit. I can’t wait! 🙂

How was your week?
Last Week’s Goals
- Sell or donate things I don’t need. Dude. Surprisingly, this actually went pretty well! I sold just about everything I was hoping to sell and now I just have a few things that I need to send off to a donation center soon. Feeling good about my less cluttery living room. 😀
- Stop mindlessly checking things on the internet. Mehh kind of. I did have an idea though! See, often when I stumble across an article that I just havetoreadrightnow, I will completely abandon my train of thought and to-do list and just spend 5 minutes reading it. So unproductive! But I was thinking that every time I feel compelled to do that, I can just save the link somewhere and then set aside an hour or two on Sundays to read everything that I’ve collected over the week. This will do two things: 1) I won’t have random distractions interrupting my day, and 2) By the time Sunday rolls around, I’ll probably look at half of those articles and decide I don’t even care about them anymore. I think I’m going to try this!
This Week’s Goals
- Launch TNC’s new design! My developer has been super hard at work coding the designs I created, and we’re just about finished and ready to launch it. I can’t wait!
- Revise my business offerings. With a new design, I decided to spruce up my services, too. I keep making lists of things I’d like to add or change, but this week, I hope to put all of that into play.
- Spend my birthday in gratitude. 25 was an interesting year with high highs and low lows. But now, I feel like I’m in a really great place. I’m ready to launch into this new year in a meaningful way, and hope to begin it by reminding myself of all that I have to be grateful for in this life.
What are you wishing for this week?
As they say…that’s a wrap! Thanks again to everyone who has participated in the Weekly Wishes community over the past two years. You all make my soul smile. Best of luck on your ongoing wishes, dreams, and goals. I’m hardcore rooting for you over here. <3

I am so proud of you! 🙂
🙂 <3
I already miss weekly goals! Excited to see your new site design!
Thanks Muriel! <3
Saving things to read later is a GREAT strategy for staying on task! I’ve been using Pocket for awhile now and I love it. Like you said, I usually find that half the things I save throughout the week aren’t even interesting to me anymore when I come back to them. Hope it works for you, too! 🙂 Also, I’m super excited to see your new site design!
I use Pocket too! But I think I need to get into the habit of using all the time. Glad it’s working out for you! 🙂
I’m so excited to see where this new design will be taking your business! xo I am going to miss WW – BUT I know only bigger and better things will be coming to TNC.
Thank you so, so much for your positivity and support, Kimberly! <3
Big thanks for hosting this amazing link up every week, I’ve had SO much fun and its really helped me achieve goals too. Looking forward to TNC’s new design! And well done for ticking those nagging tasks off your to-do list; I’ve done a few too and it’s such an awesome feeling!!! And happy birthday for Thursday 🙂
Ahh thank you so much for this kind comment, Cheryn! And also for your sweet words in your final Weekly Wishes post. It’s been so great to chat with and get to know you more through Weekly Wishes and I hope you’ll stick around long after it ends. Hope you’re having a great week! 🙂
Happy early birthday! I just started linking up with weekly wishes in the past few months and in that short time, I found so many great blogs to read and have received such nice comments from other people. So I just wanted to say thank you for creating such an awesome link up! With that said, I can’t wait to see what’s next for TNC and am so excited to see your new blog design and hear more about The Blog Hive. Enjoy the rest of your week!
Ahh thank you so much for this sweet comment, Melissa. 🙂 I’m really REALLY glad you’ve found some blog friends through this linkup. The community was really my favorite part about it! And I can’t wait to share more about The Blog Hive. Thanks for all your support. 🙂
Happy birthday and thank you so much for hosting an awesome linkup. I know all of us are sad to see it go but excited for where you’re going next! 🙂
Thank you so much, Kaitlyn! I appreciate the support so much. 🙂
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Hope you have an amazing one.
sad to see the link up go but exciting for new things!!
Thank you so much Angela! 🙂
Happy Early Birthday!
Thank you so much for taking the time to create this link up! It has been so great to me and my business. I now have the wings to fly on my own. I look forward to seeing more from you and this awesome blog!
That is too awesome to hear, Shaquinta! Your final Weekly Wishes post was very sweet, by the way. I’m so glad you found value in the linkup. <3
Happy birthday! 🙂 I know I have pushed myself so much more by being a part of weekly wishes. You really have a great community of people on TNC, and I know you always have something new and awesome in the works… so we’re all excited for what’s to come!
Ahh means so much coming from you, Esther! Thank you. 🙂
Happy birthday week! Have tons of fun spending the weekend with your love ones. Thanks for the awesome time and opportunity to know more people from blogosphere!
Thank you so much Elizabeth! 🙂
You are going to absolutely LOVE Solvang! I live right near it in San Luis Obispo, and it is the cutest place. I may be a bit biased because I lived in Denmark for a year, but I think it will be so fun! Enjoy!

YAY! I am so excited! Also, SO jealous you lived in Denmark. That’s #1 on my travel list!
You want a tip for the randomly reading? I use Pocket. Love it! You can get the extension for your browser, and whenever you see something you want to read, you just save it to pocket! Then when I have some free time, or I’m waiting for the bus, (or usually when I’m breastfeeding 🙂 ).. I would check them. (You can even read the articles offline.. 🙂
Happy birthday! 26 has been my best year so far (I’m turning 27 this year.. and that feels kinda old) – but that’s probably due to the birth of my babygirl! 😀

Thanks for the tip Anke!! I have Pocket, but rarely remember to use it. I think I should definitely make it more of a routine though — great idea! And I’m so glad 26 was a great year for you. 🙂 It’s funny, I was actually thinking that this seems like it’s going to be my best year, too. 🙂
I can’t wait to see what comes after Weekly Wishes! I adore Solvang. I hope you have a grand time!
HI Melyssa, I forgot to link my post last week because I was bogged down in boring stuff… gutted to come back this week and find the linky has finished! Do you know if anyone else will be picking up where you left off? I really love doing these weekly posts!
Hi there! 🙂 Unfortunately, I don’t know of anyone picking up where I left off! I do know that many Weekly Wishers will continue writing their own weekly goals. I bet if you visit previous WW posts and click around to the participating blogs, you’ll be able to find some friends to connect with about your goals. 🙂
I do a “setting the mood” series on Mondays where I talk about general plans, goals, etc for the week and provide a weekly color palette 🙂
(In case that appeals to you)

Hey Ivonne is that a link up you do on Mondays?
It’s a list of intentions and mood for the week that I’m hoping to turn into a bit of conversation with other creatives as well 🙂
I wish I found your blog earlier on, I really like your photography style!
Getting rid of clothes I don’t wear has been on my list of things to do for ages, I just can’t get around to it though. Kudos to you for getting to it!

So sweet of you, thanks Angelina! 🙂
I’ve just started reading about linkups and as a new blogger am super excited to both write more and build a blogging community. Excited and a little nervous… but the challenge makes it even better! Trying to really own “no better time than the present” this year (starting now with this as my first blog comment!) 🙂 Do you have any advice for finding linkups aside from just googling them?
Thanks for all of the incredible resources. TNC tabs are a constant in my browser!
