Over a decade ago, I took a leap and turned what started as a personal blog into a multimillion-dollar online education business. On the outside, it looked like success happened quickly, but what unfolded over time was a much deeper education. Through working with tens of thousands of entrepreneurs, I began to see that lasting fulfillment comes less from following a prescribed path and more from trusting your own.

About

I’m a creative entrepreneur, writer, and coach who believes that our work is meant to be a living expression of who we are. I love meaningful conversations, creative exploration, being in awe and wonder, and helping people build lives and businesses that feel alive, honest, and deeply fulfilling.

What shapes our work most profoundly is what’s happening underneath: our relationship to ourselves, our creativity, our sense of worth, and our willingness to let our work evolve as we do. The real questions aren’t just What am I building? but Who am I becoming as I build it? Where am I creating from alignment and where am I forcing something that no longer fits?

My work is about creating space for those questions, and supporting you as you listen honestly to the answers. Around here, we explore business as a pathway to becoming—one rooted in self-trust, expression, and integrity. I share what I’ve learned along the way, not as a prescription, but as an invitation: to build work that feels true, expansive, and fully your own.

there's no right way to build something meaningful.

2013-2015

Over 10 years ago I started my first business from my studio apartment in Tokyo – a boutique web design company. Within a year, it was earning 6-figures, which, as an early 20-something (and former high school teacher), felt unexpected and exhilarating. I noticed that I had a knack for writing, building community, and marketing my brand in a way that was authentic.

I started to get questions about how I was growing my business and digital community so quickly, so I put my teaching hat back on and launched my first online marketing course to share the little-known techniques that were bringing me success. Things escalated quickly and I decided to focus entirely on teaching and selling online courses.

To my surprise, within its first year, my online education company earned $1.3 million dollars and supported thousands of students in growing their own companies.  I learned the ins and outs of growing a successful digital business – from every facet of online marketing and creating streamlined systems to hiring an incredible team and crafting irresistible offers. Over the next six years, my little company would go on to help 40,000 students in our online courses.

By external measures of success, I was flying high, but inside something felt off.

2021-2022

It took two bouts of severe burnout, a breakup, and the death of my dog to get me to acknowledge that something needed to change. I loved my company, our team, and the impact we were making in the world, but deep down, I craved something different. I wanted to touch people’s lives on a smaller scale and focus more on alignment than achievement. I missed my creativity and creating a business as an experiment instead of an empire. I craved simplicity.

At the end of 2021, I made the bravest, and possibly most unconventional choice of my life: I shut down a thriving, 7-figure company. To do what? Well, I wasn’t sure yet! But I trusted that if I surrendered to the flow, followed my creative impulses, and truly listened to the current of life that had been whispering to me all this time, I would figure it out eventually.

While running Fable and The Story House, I felt the pull to return to online education—this time with a deeper intention. My work now supports soulful entrepreneurs in bringing their full selves and creative truth into their work by building businesses that feel aligned, expressive, and alive.

I see business as a powerful mirror. One that reflects who we are, what we value, and where we’re being invited to grow. When built consciously, it becomes a pathway to our greatest becoming. This is the intention behind everything I do: not just supporting what you build, but who you become in the process.

But this story isn’t just about business — and neither is yours.

My journey as an entrepreneur has been one of the most beautiful and brutal experiences of my life. At first, it led me away from myself, and eventually took me back to who I was before the world taught me who to be. In hindsight, the dots have connected in ways I couldn’t have planned.

I don’t always know exactly where my path is leading, but I trust that I’m on my way.

6 months later, those whispers led me to Portugal. I was meant to stay for a month on a road trip...and didn't leave for two years.

After moving to Portugal, I decided to renovate and open a bookshop cafe called Fable, where we also host a medley of in-person events for creative, curious humans like open mic nights, writing workshops, and vintage markets.

Eventually, I moved to Amsterdam even created an online membership community for writers called The Story House, where we bring in authors and experts to teach the craft of writing to our members. I also host breakthrough coaching calls to help our writers get out of their own way and create honest work.
