Hey there! I was looking through some folders today and realized I have a lot of unshared projects. Boo! I’d love to share my work with you more often, so I’m going to aim for a weekly branding + graphic design post, so you can see what I’ve been up to. 🙂
First up is La La Mer, a popular beauty and lifestyle blog and Instagram account, created by Marianna Hewitt. For her design, she wanted something modern, soft, and feminine without being too girly. We ended up picking a subtle color palette (which I love!) and adding some painted looking elements, to add to the freshness and femininity of the design. There’s also a “recent posts” slider at the top, which automatically updates with photos and links to her most recent adventures.
After creating her blog design, we also worked on some branding materials, like business cards, to help Marianna promote her site. Below, you can check out a variation of the design elements of her new blog. We actually went with a slightly different blog design, which you can check out by visiting her site!

What do you think of this design?
If you’re in the market for a new blog, website, or logo design, I can help! Check out my graphic design site for more info. 🙂
p.s. If you like this, I’d love it if you pinned it! Thanks friends. 🙂

Random question: are the Creative Collective link-ups not happening anymore? I wasn’t sure if I’ve been missing them or not… either way, this is gorgeous – I think a weekly design post is a great idea!
Ha! Now that you’ve mentioned it. I haven’t seen any posts as of recently.
What do you think of the idea I left in the comment above? I’d love to hear your thoughts! 🙂
Great idea Mel. That way you aren’t too burnt out or overwhelmed with keeping your heart into it. I do love seeing showcases/group posts of things like this and find it inspiring. I’ll be sharing my CC prompts soon as things settle down.
That is a GREAT question! haha. To be honest, it’s been difficult for me to keep up with the CC prompts and I feel like my heart isn’t as into it as when I birthed the idea at the beginning of the year. I know there are still some people who’d like to participate, so if you have any ideas for how to make that happen, I’d love to hear your thoughts! I was thinking of making it into a hashtag rather than a linkup, so that people could share their posts on Twitter/Instagram using the hashtag, and I can retweet/repost them to share their work with other participants, and people could just search the hashtag to find all of the other posts. What do you think of that? I think it would be more manageable for me, but would still allow people to participate and discover each other’s creativity, yes?
I like the idea of a hashtag! And I also like Myngan’s idea of like a round-up post. Maybe you could have the hashtag #creativecollective, and then just round up your favorites at the end of the month or something? That would mean less re-tweeting and re-graming for you, and still give everyone (including yourself) a place to find everyone’s posts. I already use the #creativecollective on Twitter, anyway, so I feel like that would work 🙂
Love the color palette and typography. You never cease to amaze me, Mel!
