Hello friends! If you popped by this morning and saw a blank post, then that was me being super tired last night and scheduling something with no content. WOOHOO. But all mistakes aside, I really have a fun Bloggers Giving Back event to share with you this month!
In case you’re unfamiliar with Bloggers Giving Back, were a volunteer group that brings together bloggers in the name of service. We do one community service event every month, from hosting a Blogger Brunch where we collected clothing donations to creating care packages for soldiers abroad! This month, we’re doing something pretty darn fun: A random day of kindness. We will be holding this event in SoCal, but we’ve got some fun ideas that you can do no matter where you live!
Here’s the gist: on Sunday, April 27th, we’ll go out together to do random acts of kindness for our community, like leaving notes of encouragement on parked car windshields, handing out juice and granola bars to the homeless, and secretly paying for people’s coffee or meals. We know the value of doing service for the underprivileged in our community, but we also know how powerful a kind word or caring action can be to just about anyone. So, whether you live in SoCal or not, you can totally implement this idea in your own community on April 27th! Below, I’ve even got some ideas and a free printable you can use to get started!
If you do want to join us in-person (it’s going to be fun!!!), here are the details:
When: Sunday, April 27th starting at 11:30am
Where: Meet at Great Over Good (211 E Columbine Ave Ste. G, Santa Ana CA, 92707). Then, we’ll travel to the Newport Beach Peninsula to do our random acts in special groups! It should be a gorgeous day by the beach and there will be plenty of people to enjoy your love! We may even go out for lunch after, if you’d like to join! (**Lunch is not included in the cost)
Cost: $10/person to pay for supplies. You can buy your ticket below! 🙂
Want to do good, but don’t live in SoCal? Here are some ideas you can implement on your own!
- Use the free printable below and put your notes in library books, on car windshields, or anywhere that someone may stumble upon them!
- Pay for the person behind you in line. Be sneaky about it so they don’t know it’s you! 🙂
- Create little bags of food and water and hand them out to the homeless.
- Create a “Free Hugs” sign and offer free hugs to passersby — it works!
Click the image below to be taken to the free printable! Just right click it, save, and print it!
Here you can purchase admission to the event. We sincerely hope you can come. 🙂

This is really, really wonderful Melyssa. I only wish I lived closer so I could physically be there. I actually just did a post last week about Paying it Forward. It is truly amazing what a small act of kindness can do to brighten a person’s day.
Very cool of you to promote this kind of caring. ♥♥

Each year on my birthday (which falls Memorial Day weekend) I go to the military bases and pay for the groceries young families are in line to buy. Then I go to the Starbucks and give them the balance of the money and pay for coffees until it runs out.
I leave April 28th on 11 days of business travel, but I will try to make this event (as I am just down the Road in San Diego). I truly believe the gift is in the giving and I am so glad that Justina Wong (Fail Sweetly) directed me to your blog. I’d love to be part of something so wonderful. Thank you for giving back in such a good way!
PS I am in LOVE with your Corgi!
