Happy Friday! *This post had some technological issues earlier today, so I’m sorry if you’re seeing it twice! Damn you, internet! 😉 Anyways, as we approach the start of a new season, a new month, and the beginning of the end of 2014, I thought it would be nice to do a little check-in and see what kicked booty about this year so far. I’ve got a simple question for you: When did you feel your best in 2014? I also enlisted help from a few of the lovely women below, who are sharing about everything from the magic of their wedding day to the happiness of performing on national TV, among other spectacular moments. Take a moment to read their answers (seriously, they’re heart-warming!), visit their blogs, and then leave your own response in the comments. Because sometimes the best way to move forward is to reflect on the beautiful places you’ve been. I hope you have a gorgeous weekend, friends!
Thank you to these lovelies for starting us off:

I just realized that I have not had any amazing moments this entire year.
Sometimes, things aren’t super amazing, but just overall good. I firmly believe it’s the little things in life that count the most, anyway 🙂 so don’t feel bad!
I totally second that. 🙂
Like Johanna said, sometimes it’s the little things, or sometimes we just have bad years. No shame in that. 🙂 I hope you’re able to create some great moments this year — you still have plenty of time! And if it’s any consolation, I’ve noticed and read each of the comments you leave on my blog. They make ME feel pretty amazing, so don’t doubt that you’re sending some positive inspiration to the people you touch. 🙂
I’ve been able to keep an average with a 1 in front (1,0 is the best you can have here in Germany), and I am ridiculously proud of that. Fingers crossed the last few grades and exams don’t bring that down! 🙂
That is so stellar, Johanna! Congrats! 🙂
Dang! You went to Coachella?? I am super jealous! I wish I could have gone!
You should go next year! It’s really the best 😀
what is Coachella? Is it just a big music festival?
Yeah! It’s probably the biggest annual music festival in California.
I wish… but I don’t fly. No way. I have huge fears of flying. And especially lately with all that’s been going on. If you are going to stick me on a plane it is A. mandatory and B. drug & liquor me up. I don’t want to feel a damn thing….
Well maybe one day a massive road trip is in order. 😉
That I WILL do 🙂
I think the best moment of 2014 was graduating with my B.S. in public relations! And landing a job! 🙂
Well those sound like two awesome things! Congrats, Olivia! 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
My best moment so far (there’s still a lot to go!) has probably been working at two of my favorite museums this summer!
OoooO how neat is that! What kind of museums are they?
I worked at an art museum and a history museum. They were both so different, and it was wonderful to experience the different types! Although, both of my parents are artists, so it was such a neat experience to see the behind-the-scenes workings of a large art museum that I grew up going to.
That’s rad! I love that both of your parents are artists, too — how neat is that!
My favorite moment from this year probably was moving in with my boyfriend, he makes me happy and its just further solidified our relationship.
I’m so happy to hear that, Justine! Living with someone you love is pretty awesome. 🙂
I felt my best after I found out I got into my early decision college in February! My eyes leaked tears of relief rather than joy, but it was such a great moment all the same. Freshman orientation starts in three days–I can’t wait! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
That’s incredible, Audrey! Best of luck to you in starting school soon!! 🙂
This is a really cool idea. I love your blog design by the way.
Thank you so much! 🙂
I think I had a lot of great “small” moments in the first few months of 2014, but then I’ve had a few big ones lately – I moved to Moldova and almost a month ago I was sworn in as a Peace Corps Volunteer! I’ve been working really hard this summer to learn a language and new skills and when I think about it like that, it makes me feel really good!
Whoa, that is so cool, Cat! I had no idea you were joining the Peace Corps! Congrats, I bet it will be an incredible experience! 🙂
Cat this is so awesome! I had a friend in college from Moldova and she was lovely! I hope you enjoy your time there.
Thanks for sharing Melyssa. This post is wonderful and makes me think of hundreds of other wonderful moments I’ve had this year. So much to be grateful for
That is awesome, Ursula! I actually teared up while reading your favorite moment. It’s so great to be supported by the humans and animals that make our lives sweet. 🙂
Honestly, this past week has been the best! I have never felt more proud of myself. I woke up early each morning and did yoga and this weekend I cleaned out a bunch of junk that I didn’t realize was holding me down. I really am becoming more intentional and moving forward.

Woooo!! That’s awesome, Mandi. Clearing away junk always makes me feel lighter and happier. 🙂
I like this question and I liked everyone’s answers! Such a fun variety. The best moments of 2014 have been the quiet ones. Quiet mornings at home where I am spending time in the Bible and in prayer. Quiet moments with Dave either traveling in the car or being at home. I’ve needed a ‘quiet year’ and it’s been really good!
I love that! Quiet moments really are the best. 🙂
I felt my best at 29th of July. I am from the Faroe Islands – a small country where almost everyone know each other – and the past five years I’ve been living in Denmark. This summer I went for another visit. 29th of July is the national day. At midnight about 15,000 of 48,000 meet to sing faroese songs. Standing there singing (if you can call it that – more likely shouting) I felt so good. I had my friends, brilliant music and a mood that was unbeatable. Definite the moment I felt good and like myself.
I felt my eyes get a little teary-eyed just reading that, Tóra! Sounds like a really special moment. 🙂
