Hello darlings! I couldn’t resist making one more vlog this year to say a few thank yous and share a little story I haven’t yet talked about that reminds me of one of the biggest lessons I learned in 2013. Monja, of course, makes an appearance, too. 🙂 Want to know a fun fact? If you look at the thumbnail of the video below, you’ll notice a little gap in my teeth on the left. Whenever I ask people if I have food in my teeth, they always hesitate, wondering if that little black crevice was actually part of my lunch. Is it weird that I kind of like it? 🙂
Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful NYE and a great start to 2014! I can’t wait to share all of the fun ideas Monja and I have planned for 2014. I hope you love them! xoxoxo

What a great message! This can apply to anyone at any stage of life or career. Thanks for sharing this with us, and super big thanks for giving us a peek at Monja! I’m a little obsessed with your dog….
I totally agree Megan! Thank you for that reminder. Life really is all about taking chances, learning from mistakes, and finding the things that we love! Glad you love Monja, too! He loves you back 🙂
I agree with Megan… I love me some Monja! Thanks for the positive message. I’ve got a good job now but have big dreams for grad school and where my career can go afterwards. Always good to get that encouragement and reassurance that you shouldn’t be afraid to step out of our comfort zones and give something new a try!
Monja loves him some Elise!! 🙂 And I’m glad this message could be applied to your own life as well. Sounds like you’ve got a good thing going and I bet it’s only going to get better! Happy New Year, Elise!
Monja is so awesome, lol. 🙂 I think that’s a great message and I totally agree – I wanted to become a DJ and while I have changed my mind I’ve left it as a hobby because I saw the lifestyle wasn’t for me. However, if I hadn’t went off chasing that dream I wouldn’t be where I am today and that is extremely happy and fulfilled. Glad that 2013 ended on a positive note compared to its beginning~! Now 2014! -Iva
I love the story you shared and that is exactly what I was getting at! Glad your DJ ventures led you to a positive place. 🙂 I have secretly wanted to be a DJ too! hehe
Love that little guy!!! lol So glad you had an awesome 2013. Love your bow business story! haha That’s definitely encouraging to try and reach for any goal I have! And thank you for being an inspiration to me to be a better blogger!
I love the bow story! It sounds like something I would do. Happy New Year!
I love your vlog. AND I’d totally buy a hair bow from you =-) Yeah for dreaming big! I have huge dreams for my blog and they are slowly coming through. This year I also want to learn photography and editing. I just bought Lightroom yesterday and I’m hoping to learn some basics so maybe one day I can have my own little photography side business. I’m rambling, but thanks again for sharing your passions.
Loved this video, Melyssa! You’re so much fun to listen to (especially when Monja is a part of the conversation). The hair bow story is so perfect for this time of year…and you’re right. It’s worth it to dream big and follow those dreams as far as they lead you, even if they end up not coming to fruition. “The journey is the destination.” -Dan Eldon (and a bunch of other people)
Happy New Year! And here’s to big dreams!
Hi Melyssa,
New reader here :). Mariah from Food,
Booze and Baggage pointed me in your direction and I’m so glad she did.
This video brought a tear to my eye. I totally get it, that’s why I
started blogging. I don’t know where it’s going to take me yet, but I
know that by starting this journey, I’m heading in the right direction.
Thank you so much for creating such a loving positive space. Looking
forward to getting to know you better.
XO,

I love this! I had a very similar process (although not with hair bows!) that led me to my blog. Believe it or not I was dead set I wanted to be a fitness instructor and life coach… Now sitting here as a blogger and web designer. Oh life.
Anyway, I can really relate and although I was pretty embarrassed at my original goals, you’ve helped me realise I should be proud as they have brought me here today :).
